ECG (Electrocardiogram)
The ECG is essential in the diagnosis of heart disease and is used to detect and diagnose heart arrhythmias. It is an imperative test for a complete cardiovascular examination.
For a resting ECG, the patient must lie on the right side while 4 electrodes are applied to the limbs. The whole procedure is of course painless, but requires a quiet rest on the side for a few minutes.
We also use the ECG as a monitoring tool during anesthesia.
